Frozen Kibble Kong

Frozen Kibble Kong

This is a great treat all times of the year.  B/c it’s frozen the pooch can enjoy this treat longer.  Great for crating and other times you need to keep the pupper occupied.

  • 1 cup dog food kibble (increase or decrease depending on the amount of kongs)
  • 1/2 cup water (increase decrease as necessary)
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil ((optional))
  • 1 unit dog treat ((optional))
  1. Place kibble in a blender or food processor on high.  I use a Ninja for this task.

  2. Remove kibble powder and place in a 2 cup Pyrex style measuring cup for easy pouring later

  3. Gradually mix water into kibble powder.  Keep adding water until it is soupy and easy to pour.

  4. On the Kong plug the bottom little hole with peanut butter or coconut oil.

  5. Pour mixture into a kong.  You can add a dog bone or bully stick for added tail wag. You can cap off the Kong with some coconut oil as well if desired.

  6. Place Kong in freezer upright or place Kong in a coffee cup for added support.

  7. Leave kong in the freezer until fully frozen.

The best part of this recipe is that it’s your own dog kibble. Especially great for puppers who have those jerk-face tummy issues.

If you are concerned about your pooch packing some extra snuggle weight just adjust the portion you feed them in the AM. Liberty gets a cup of food twice a day. If I give her a Kong I adjust her kibble by a half cup. She’s still eating and gets some frozen deliciousness to boot and she isn’t getting extra treat calories.
